Is there a way to make these images static, so no action happens with a mouse-over, except for the hyperlink to product pages?

By the way, this particular carousel doesn’t work on my iPad anyway. You can see the various related items fine, but for several of them the second image that would have been used for the mouse-over transition is partially showing beneath the main related image. Nothing happens on “finger-over” and I don’t know why.

Also, I would appreciate it if someone could explain how the Related Products show up on a Product page. When I added products, the related items just showed up and I accepted it without actually understanding how it happened. Now that I’d like to only show static items, I guess I should make the effort to learn more about it! 🙂

    Thanks for the help!

    Hi!

I’m not sure if that’s possible since the hook that calls the items is the same as for other places, so I’m not sure if we can control that independently,

I will have to ask the developer about that.

    All the best

    Hi,

    1. Sure that is possible, but it needs a lot code changes.
    2. Can you share some screenshots or site address to check, make sure you are running on the latest theme version.
    3. You can give it a read: http://docs.woothemes.com/document/related-products-up-sells-and-cross-sells/

    Thanks,
    laranz.

Thanks for your reply, Melanie and Laranz.

Laranz, I appreciate the link to the above pages. Seems to me it would be beneficial for us to have the option to fully control the ‘related products’ actions through an Admin Section option, rather than have to do any fidgeting with the code. Maybe they will consider it for future versions.

However, there still remains a problem because the feature doesn’t work properly on an iPad and, since the world has come to rely on various mobile devices to view sites on the Internet, the problem needs to be addressed.

In case anyone has an iPad and would like to see the problem for themselves, you can see it on the Neighborhood Theme “Live Preview” site, as well. When you view any product and scroll down the page, you’ll notice the problem with the Related Images section, where the next Related Images show below the initial image.

I look forward to any comments. Thanks!

    Hi,

I understand it fully, You mean like this? http://support.swiftideas.net/forums/topic/trouble-with-small-resolution/

I already develop that to the developer, thanks for that.

    Thanks,
    laranz.

Yes, Laranz. And, on the iPad, you can’t get the same action as using a mouse on a regular computer if you put your finder over one of the Related Products images. So, it is not truly “responsive,” which is what most developers are wanting nowadays.

That’s why I think it is important for Woocommerce to allow us a place on the Admin page to decide if we only want one item, etc. For instance, the website I have just created is a motorcycle sales site and, if one of the Honda 125cc bikes is selected, I am only interested in showing other Honda 125cc models that are also available on the Product page. But, I should have the option to maybe show the bikes in different colors, if I choose to.

I hope they will consider updating their program to allow for this and also correct the problem with displaying the Related Product images on an iPad or other mobile device.

    Regards,

    Glen

    Hi,

Yes you are right, but those are woocommerce own settings, we can’t control it. But you can set those related products by this: http://docs.woothemes.com/document/related-products-up-sells-and-cross-sells/

    Thanks,
    laranz.
