We love the theme and plan on rebuilding site from scratch using 3.0. Now that we know more about wordpress/woocommerce – we feel it’s better to create cleaner version of theme limiting our custom css and the amount of useless pages, etc (we self taught using trial & error and fear we have been compromising integrity of the theme with so much extra stuff).

We have experienced steady growth with several hiccups along the way. In first few months we saw 50% spikes in sales (small dollar amounts) but have continued with steady 25%-30% growth and the monthly dollar amounts are escalating.

We plan on significant growth in near future and expect monthly sales numbers to go up considerably (fingers crossed). Is wordpress and woocommerce coupled with your theme able to handle sales in excess of $150,000 per month? It seems that every time we experience a signficant spike in growth, something goes awry with site. Our host (mediatemple) tells us it is connected to the coding (see detailed report below with some fatal error logs, for which they strongly suggest we seek the support of a developer).

<p class=”p1″>Solution: Unfortunately, we can offer only limited assistance with resolving fatal errors, as they are often related directly to the coding of the site. In this situation, resolution would require the attention of a professional developer, who is familiar with your website’s platform. However, fatal errors can also occur as a result of application code in conjunction with server settings. Feel free to respond to this support request, and we can advise you as to the availability of assistance for this particular issue.</p>
    <p class=”p1″>—————————————————————————</p>
<p class=”p1″>We would gladly send you the full details of the Report/Analysis given to us by Mediatemple.</p>
<p class=”p1″>We have been told by some developers that as the site/sales grow, we really cannot stick with a pre-existing theme and will need to have something custom developed. We assume they are just trying to get us to hire them to build custom site – but we prefer to control it ourselves and love the theme you guys have put together so would prefer to continue with Neighborhood.
My apologies for such long winded post – hoping you can shed some light on all this for us.</p>
<p class=”p1″>Thank you very much for such a great theme and great support.</p>

1- Have you uploaded all files of theme and customized the theme?

2- Are you using any child theme?

    Thanks 🙂

    Hi Frank,

There shouldn’t be any need for a custom project – we have customers who host thousands of products using our themes without issue. You’ll likely want to invest in a caching/CDN solution.

We’ve never had good experiences with MediaTemple – I would highly recommend a WordPress hosting solution such as WPEngine, or Kinsta, and CloudFlare for DNS level content delivery.

That would be the point at which you would be prepared the most.

I’ve fixed that error for a future update – that looks to be a hosting issue though.

We took your advice and have set up an account with WP-Engine (currently on mediatemple)
WP-Engine is helping us migrate our site over and one of the main tasks was downloading/uploading the wp-content folder to their SFTP. We did this but when we view the site on their server, it is showing up an older version of our site. Not sure if there are assets needed beyond the wp-content and database files. Wondering/hoping you guys may know what might be causing this glitch.
Let me know- thanks very much.

    Hi Frank,

The site content in terms of posts/pages/setup is all stored in the database – have they copied the latest version of this across too? This is really a question that you should be putting to them.

We resolved the wp-content issue (thanks for your advice on that). We are having a larger issue now with the migration.

We have not updated woocommerce, theme & plugins for quite some time because our plan is to rebuild our site using Atelier.
However, due to rapid growth of our store – we have taken your recommendation to switch to wpengine (from mediatemple).
The migration has not gone as smoothly as we’d hoped.

when export db from mediatemple & importing it to wpengine – we are getting notices that wordpress has been updated and we need to update our database. Tried to circumnavigate this but was not possible. We updated the wordpress database and site is all out of whack.

mediatemple site: https://thikit.com (this is how it should look)
wpengine’s site: http://thikit.wpengine.com (this is after we updated the database)

I was already at this stage a few days ago. I even took it one step further and updated the Theme, woocommerce and all the plugins – but that brought the site to just a skewed logo and one product thumbnail (see attached screen shot).

MY QUESTION: if we go into wp-admin on the new wpengine version and update everything, is it going to be possible to get the site back to the way it is supposed to look. I looked through your forum and saw a lot of support on updates but not sure if every case is different.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated – thank you very much

    Hi

Like Ed said, if anything has gone wrong in the migration process it’s something WP Engine should help you with, nothing with the theme would cause the site to look any different after migrating. Once you have the site running on WP Engine, if anything is different we will take a look and let you know what it could be.

You should not have any issues with updating everything to the latest versions

I just tried to create a new support ticket but it was giving me a message that i need to purchase additional support license. Not sure if that is a mixup or if, in fact, i have to purchase, please let me know. In the meantime (and i hope this is not related), we have had some customers inform us that they are having trouble accessing our site earlier today. They were sending us notes that they are receiving 15005 errors and -200 errors. We contacted WPEngine (the host we recently transferred our site to – from mediatemple).
WPEngine support sent us the following notifications:
    ——————————————————————————
After looking at your error logs, I’ve found this error being persistent today:
[Tue Sep 01 06:45:23.056092 2015] [:error] [pid 23825] [client 66.249.65.196:53932] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function aq_resize() in /nas/wp/www/cluster-40627/thikit/wp-content/themes/neighborhood/includes/swift-framework/page-builder/builder/shortcodes/recent-posts.php on line 131

This fatal error in your theme could cause issues to your customers trying to view your site. I would suggest addressing this fatal error ASAP to insure that your site is pulling up fine :).
    ——————————————————————————

I realize you are going to tell me to update to the latest theme, but when we do that – the site gets all out of whack and we are in process of creating new site using Atelier theme, so don’t really want to have to tweak all the pages and get an updated Neighborhood to work. Hoping to avoid that if at all possible.

Any insight into this would be great.
    Thanks.
    Frank

    Hi

I’m afraid we can’t support older versions of the theme that have bugs as we have likely fixed them in an update, have you tried updating the theme? What makes you think it will al be messed up? It should be fine if you haven’t edited the theme files

Envato have introduced a new paid support policy, so yes if you want to carry on receiving support you will need to pay for a support package.
