Hi! I choose the side panel for the product pages in the settings (see screenshot). Sidebar one not empty, it is displayed on other pages. But on the product page he misses. If you create a new product in the settings you selected “no sidebars”. If you manually to choose product бококвую panel, everything works. How to choose the sidebar for all products by default?
January 16, 2014 at 10:50 am #42915Hi, I’m afraid you cannot choose a default sidebar, you will have to modify the sidebars manually per each post.
Cheers!
January 16, 2014 at 12:01 pm #42947Then what is the purpose of this setting?
You are sure that there is no way to assign sidebars immediately all products? I will be several thousand products. I have to manually select each sidebar?
January 18, 2014 at 11:18 pm #43385Melanie,
it seems to be a bug with the “Default Product Sidebar Config” setting as the Pixelix pointed out. I have the same issue.
I select on the theme setting page “Default Product Sidebar Config” & “Default Product Left Sidebar” & “Default Product Right Sidebar”, see the attachment.
Then when I check the product page, let us say produkt “Blue carpet”, the product page has the sidebar BUT as soon as I update something on the “Blue carpet” product page (for example change the price or ad some attribute, what ever) AND press the Update button the sidebar disappears.I checked the custom fields (sf_right_sidebar, sf_sidebar_config, sf_left_sidebar) and noticed that after when a product is updated the Product Meta fields OVERWRITES the “Default Product Sidebar Config” settings and saves the default per page EVEN you don’t change the Sidebar Options->Sidebar configuration-> No sidebar (NOTE wrong help text here…Choose the sidebar configuration for the detail page of this portfolio item.)
And the result is… the custom field “sf_sidebar_config” get overwritten with value “no-sidebars” which is not correct and NOT wanted and makes the sidebar suddenly disappear 🙁Please forward this ti Ed to take a look at and the solve the obvious BUG!
ThanksJanuary 21, 2014 at 11:34 am #43825Hi, as far as I know the default sidebar targets future posts, not past posts. But let me ask the developer about this
January 21, 2014 at 11:51 am #43832No, for new products is also does not appear.
