    Hi,

I’m suddenly having problems with the media uploader. It keeps getting hung up on upload. On Safari and Chrome I either get an error message saying “http error.” or “An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.” On Firefox, the image will upload, but then will cycle another time and give me an error message. When I check my media in Firefox it looks as though the image has been uploaded twice, however no thumbnails are attached to it.

In all instances, it goes through the uploading process of processing the full-sized images but seems to get hung up during the processing of the thumbnails. When I look in my media library, the image will be there with a broken icon next to it. Regenerating the thumbnails for that image resolves the problem so I know the original has been processed. It’s very strange.

I’ve tried deactivating all of my plugins and uploading images again to see if it was a conflict, but the problem persists. I also tried switching to Twenty Thirteen theme and did not have this issue, so it appears to be something theme related. Is there anything you can do or suggest? Attached is a debug log. I switched my site to debug mode and ran it after I deactivating all plugins and trying to upload again. Maybe there’s a clue there as to what’s happening?

    Thanks,

    Neil

    Hi,

Can you zip the debug.log and attach again? or Share a Dropbox link to that log file.
Can you also provide us admin access so we can check any error in the javascript console?

    Hi,

It worked fine for me, uploaded 2 images without any error.

Notice you have a cache plugin, try to delete the cache before uploading an image.

In your logs you have several errors regarding the time execution in your server that can’t be higher than 30 seconds. Think you should contact your host and maybe increase it a little more to 60 seconds, just an opinion.

Huh. This is very strange. I’ve tried myself on multiple computers and can’t seem to get it to work. Occasionally, I can get some success, but even just retrying it now with my cache deleted, it won’t work. Wonder if it has something to do with the images I’m trying to upload? Can you do me a favor and try uploading the attached image and let me know if that works for you?

In the meantime, I’ll contact my host to see if I can get the execution time increased.

The first time it didn’t worked out, then I tried again with no problems.
I think it’s something in your server settings. Any special change in .htaccess file or something like that?

There were some .htaccess changes that were applied by WP Supercache. I’ll erase those and restore to the original .htaccess to see if that works any better.

I restored the .htaccess file and deleted WP Super Cache and that didn’t solve the issue. HOWEVER, I asked my host to bump up the max execution time from 30 seconds to 60 seconds as you recommended and that worked! Tried on several images and had no problems.

Thanks for the help! I think this issue is resolved now.
