    Even though we set the theme options for category/archive pages to have sidebars…. they just don’t show up.
    (See: http://newnewcanaan.hanewsmedia.com/category/news/obituaries/ )

    Am I missing something? It seems so straight forward.

    It occured to me that i could just take a page and use the Swift editor and blog widget and add some other widgets and make a “pretend” category display page.( See: http://newnewcanaan.hanewsmedia.com/sports/ ) Unfortunately, if we decide to turn on the breadcrumbs or have related categories adjacent to a single post and someone clicks the category they will not go back to the “pretend” category page – they end up back at the real category page that I cannot get the sidebars to work on.

    Please help! I am at a point where I am thinking of making a custom category.php page. I really would prefer to not have to do that because this is not garden variety WordPress.
