Posting comment stopped working

Hey guys,

Since a day ago (not sure why) posting comments has stopped working. The page usually goes blank when submitting and the comment doesn’t appear anywhere.

Any suggestions? This is quite urgent for us if you can help out!

Hi Ben,

1) Have you installed any plugins recently that could have caused this?

2) Have you modified any theme/child theme files recently also?

3) Can you check you server logs for any issues relating to this or get your host to provide you with a server log?

4) Can you test the issue with all plugins disabled?

5) If none of the above have helped, please activate the Twenty15 theme and test again.

Hi David,

Thanks for the prompt reply. No new plugins or theme modifications. Nothing in the log from WPengine.

Haven’t been able to test with plugins disabled yet but about to try that on the Staging site. I did quickly try the default theme and comments did work, could it be a conflict between the latest version of WordPress and Dante? We haven’t changed anything recently so it’s really weird for it to suddenly stop working properly, WPengine automatically updates WordPress so that is the only thing I can think of.

Resolved this – not sure exactly what was happening but might be something to do with the host staging site system.
