Hi Ed,
I contact cloudflare who directed me to the following: https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/200171906-Error-522-Connection-timed-out
How could you change the custom excerpt then?
March 20, 2015 at 12:37 am #159210When I got the error, I couldn’t save the post either – the page wouldn’t load. Can you try bypassing cloud flare to see if the issue still occurs? We use cloudflare, and haven’t ever had that issue.

March 20, 2015 at 12:48 am #159214Hi Ed,
I’ll look into it.
A point which doesn’t make sense to me is that if I change the custom excerpt and the post content at the same time and update, the content saves while the excerpt doesn’t.

Thanks

The meta options are saved to a different row in the database.
Let us know if you find out any more.

April 9, 2015 at 7:10 am #163944Hi Ed,
Thanks for the reply. I still have had no luck resolving this issue and just tried to write a new post and the following happened:
– No meta options saved when initially publishing or after
– No seo options saved (Yoast SEO) when initially publishing or after
– The page builder reverted from active to inactive (classic mode view) after publishingI’m not sure where I can go for help to resolve this issue, could you either help by investigating further, or point me in the right direction?
Thank you.
April 12, 2015 at 1:21 am #164414Hi @George
That’s very strange. Can you try with the default WordPress theme enabled? The fact that the SEO settings aren’t saving suggests this may be a bigger issue.

April 13, 2015 at 1:59 am #164466Hi Ed,
I switched to the default theme and published a test post, the seo options have saved and when editing the post and changing the options, it saves all along, perfectly.
I’ve thought it was a theme problem all along, and this seems to prove it.
What should I/we do to resolve this theme fuelled problem?
Thanks,
George
April 13, 2015 at 2:09 am #164467Hi Ed,
I’ve now finished some other tests with the Cardinal theme active and have concluded that the meta options and seo options do not save properly when the Swift Page Builder is active.
Creating a new test post with the Classic Editor active results in perfect posting with meta options saving perfectly and seo options saving and with swift page builder nothing saves.
Can the Swift Page Builder be fixed?
Look forward to your reply.
Thanks George
April 13, 2015 at 8:43 am #164563Hi George,
Thanks for posting your findings. I can’t say for sure that it is specifically an issue with the theme itself – if it was this would likely be an issue for everyone, so it seems it’s a very rare issue.
Can you possibily provide FTP access for us to investigate?
Thanks,
– Ed

We are trying to recreate in the post below, but with no luck at the moment.
https://events.com.au/wp-admin/post.php?post=17875&action=edit&message=10Maybe it’s related to the content inside the post/page.
Can you edit that post content above the way you did it in your tests so it can stop saving the meta options. So we can debug that situation.
thanks

April 13, 2015 at 10:45 pm #164887Hi Rui,
I edited the post and used a saved template, which is what i usually do to recreate an event listing, and when doing so the meta options do not save.
I think you’re onto something there.
George.
April 14, 2015 at 1:13 am #164895Hi Rui,
On another note, I think it’s simply the content in the saved template as when copying the saved template content from another new post, to your test post the meta options suddenly do not save.
April 14, 2015 at 1:41 am #164896Hi Rui and Ed,
Did you guys touch anything in my ftp?
All my categories are now gone (invisible, but still there) and i cannot update any plugins, but i haven’t changed anything to do this.
Can you please advise..
