Hi,
It seems that the post images inserted in thumbnail media / detail media are not picked up by Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+ etc. social networks when the post is shared.
Maybe this has something to do with an error that I get from NFGB Open Graph plugin. On each post I get this error:
Open Graph+ Warning: Image id 3514 rejected(600×472) too small for ngfb-opengraph (1200×630 cropped).
Actually I rather would not use the NFGB plugin since I prefer WordPress SEO. Is there a way to get the blog post images show up when shared on social networks? I have never had this kind of problem with any other theme. Where should I insert the images?
January 20, 2014 at 10:51 am #43549Hi, if you don’t need the NFBG plugin you can deactivate it if you want, if it enables the facebook image sharing and you don’t need it it’s not a problem to deactivate it
January 20, 2014 at 12:22 pm #43560Now I have NFBG plugin deactivated, BUT I would like Facebook & social networks to pick up the correct blog / portfolio images. Is there any other way to make this happen?
All the themes I have used so far “just work” in this respect. Featured image or first image in post is picked up by FB automatically. With Dante I can’t find any option to do this. There is only “detail image”, which is NOT picked up by FB.
Please help.
January 20, 2014 at 1:50 pm #43572This is how WordPress SEO works out of the box:

Unfortunately it seems that WP SEO doesn’t detect Dante detail image. I tried to add featured image to post, but it doesn’t help either. This is really annoying, since WP SEO is the “industry standard” plugin people use for SEO purposes.

Have assigned this to Ed-The developer , If it indeed doesnt work im sure Ed will release an update. Thanks
TahirJanuary 22, 2014 at 10:48 pm #44198Hi @rhodez,
Adding the featured image should work 100%, but may take a day to show up when checking with Facebook as this stuff is cached at their side. Try creating a new post and setting the featured image?

October 12, 2014 at 6:04 am #119489I am also having this issue. My images, titles, and descriptions are not showing up when posted to Facebook. The images do not appear on G+, tumblr, etc. There is one post that I have been able to get to show the image, and I have no idea why. However, it only shows the image when I use the full web address. If I use the “Get Shortlink” or any of the other sharing options it does not show the image.
I have also attempted deactivating the SEO plug and added the NFGB Open Graph plug in. Still not working.
Here is the full link where it works: http://www.herown.net/10-big-healthcare-cost-questions-answered-doctor/
Here is the short link of the same that doesn’t work: http://wp.me/p58VbX-5A
Here is a full link that doesn’t work (just as an example): http://www.herown.net/goal-spending-vs-goal-saving/October 13, 2014 at 1:10 pm #119612Hi,
You need an APP ID for that to work. A website is not an app. You must go to https://developers.facebook.com/apps and create a new APP. After the creation you will recieve an APPID. That is the id that you need at NFBG plugin setting page. Thanks
