How do you set default meta for portfolio/posts? I am using the custom templates but it only effects the page layout not the meta. Example: For my portfolio pages I want the page title with the alt background to show up(page title is not on every page) but i want the social sharing, breadcrumbs turned off. They keep reseting every time i create a new portfolio piece. I want to hand this to a client without them having to turn things off/on.
Would like to do the same with the blog section. I want to have all the settings ready for when they want to create a new post.
BTW. You guys have been really helpful and I appreciate it. But im sure I will have a few more questions as I move along.
May 29, 2013 at 8:39 pm #6559Hi Justin,
There are currently no options to set the defaults for those meta options.
Ed, will there be an update on this?

Support AssistantJune 3, 2013 at 1:22 pm #6911Any update on this? It’s very annoying for clients.
June 3, 2013 at 5:04 pm #6938I would also like to here an update on this.
@biklops. I made some mods to the first level php files since they play well with child themes.
I just commented out what I wanted to hide from the posts/portfolios. That worked for me so I don’t know how elaborate you need it to be but would still love to hear when this is controllable.June 3, 2013 at 5:22 pm #6940Hey guys,
What you’ll need to do is edit /includes/meta-boxes.php
The portfolio meta box options start on line 65. What you want to do is find the option you want to change the default for, and change the ‘std’ value.
Hope that helps.

July 26, 2014 at 10:16 pm #94909Hi Ed!
I don’t want to double post here and there in the forum, but… I cannot understand why, with “Default Show Page Heading” set as “On”, meta box in a new product (woocommerce) has no default tick on the “Show page title” option.
So, I have to set it on as per each and every product manually.
Is there a specific reason?
Waiting for your kind reply, many thanks in advance.ps: I have Dante template
July 27, 2014 at 11:28 pm #95028Hi there,
The default is set as per the Theme Options > Default Meta Options > Default Show Page Heading setting, can you check you have that set to On?

July 28, 2014 at 6:02 am #95054Hi Ed, thanks for your reply.
I have just checked: it is set to “on” but product meta is still hidden and unavailable.
What else should I do?
Waiting for your reply, thanks.July 28, 2014 at 7:10 am #95073Ed, is it possible that meta-boxes.php has been broken or something like that?
I just opened a couple of files with this name and I wouldn’t have inadvertently modified it…
Do you need credentials?July 28, 2014 at 9:48 am #95139Ed, just to help you in fixing this issue: Product Meta tab is correctly loading, but it is hidden by css. Or at least, is what I found out by digging into the code (see screenshot).
What will cause this kind of behaviour?Attachments:

Great! you found the cause of this issue. Have you inserted any css code to hide these meta boxes?
ThanksJuly 28, 2014 at 10:30 am #95174ABSOLUTELY NOT!
any kind of editing like this…
It’s incredible how I bothered you in the latest few hours and I’m sorry for this, but many issues have been concentrating in the same moment…
What should I do?ANYWAY, this kind of issue appeared after updating to the latest Dante release.
Any hint about that?Lastly: you are not suggesting me to fix this problem via css, right?
please, let me know. many thanks.
*** EDIT ***
Please, see the attached screenshot: is it correct that Default Meta Options are looking like this? It seems like there’s a blank table within it… Just to be sure. Thanks.Attachments:
