So, I created a portfolio but the items are not visible, but when I scroll across the page, the cursor shows that the items are there.
How can I fix this?

Hi,

There was an issue with the WordPress 4.5 update.
Update Cardinal to the latest version(appearance-> Themes-> Cardinal) and the issue will disappear.

Also clear the browser cache.
