Those errors are to do with a “Page Enhanced” plugin, not being able to access your htaccess file, nothing to do with the theme/image issue.

The issue with images is only something I’ve ever seen where the server image library isn’t running / setup correctly.

    Hi Ed,

I’m not using a page enhanced plugin, you mean w3tc?

I am contacting our web hosts to check the gd image library for us.

    Thank you for the help.

I’ve been informed the GD Image Library is installed properly and okay.

Do you have any other ideas.

I’m positive this happened after the 1.7 update. As it was fine before that.

    Hi Ed,

    I’ve installed 1.62 again.

Can you check if the problem has resolved? i’m not exactly sure what i’m looking for.

    Hi Ed,

Please see the attached image file, this shows what the image was resized and saved as via my ftp.

    The original file is 500 x 333.

    What should be available?

The image resizer doesn’t add a file, it resizes on the fly without having to create a file. What size was the image in that upload, I don’t recognise any of those sizes as theme sizes.

    Hi Ed,

    The original size was 500 x 333.

Wordpress recreated the test-hk image as the ones in the image above.

I did another test; with an image size 990 x 742.

The output in the wp-content/uploads/2014/08 folder is attached.

They are weird sized being produced.

My web host company says the gd image library is working fine.

i’ve disabled all plugins and the result is still the same.

The images are being shown as 400 x 300, fixed, no matter what the window size.

At one stage disabling plugins the image filename went from orginal.jpg to originalx400x300.jpg.

    Is that a result?

I’ve noticed on my desktop the images are being displayed as 400 x 300 and on my latop, 800 x 600, regardless of the window size.

Yes – that is the desired result! It will show as 800×600 on laptop for retina displays.

So i need the images to be showing as image x width x height.jpg

    And not the original file?

That’s correct, what was the plugin that caused this?

    Hi Ed,

    That’s some progress!

It is the WordPress HTTPS, which is disastrous, as without it i cannot display my site as https, and with it the image resizer on the fly is broken!

Any ideas on what I can do?
