With the new 1.7 update, my portfolio section has broken, masonry gutters are all over the place.

See attached image or my homepage. events.com.au

Please let me know the fix.

    Thank you.

    Hi @George

Doesn’t look as though your images are being resized, but instead providing the original URL resized.

Do you have any plugins that modify images such as Jetpack Photon? Only other thing I can think is that your hosting GD Image Library isn’t installed/enabled.

Nothing has changed in terms of this from the previous update.

    Hi Ed,

Thanks for looking into it, nothing has changed from my end apart from my .htaccess file, could this be the issue?

No other plugins that relate to images have been installed.

Hmm.. What was the original size of the image uploaded? Can you attach one here for me to check locally?

    Hi Ed,

These are the image direct links, that are meant to be resizing in the portfolio asset.

    https://events.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/hk-7s-2015.jpg

    Two examples.

Can you try re-uploading on your site? When I upload the image to an item, it shows like this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/7u054z9w1gfee6n/Screenshot%202014-09-03%2001.47.04.png?dl=0

and displays correctly in the 5 column portfolio asset

    Hi Ed,

Should i resize all images in that 5 column portfolio asset to the same size? e.g. 750 x 500?

You shouldn’t have to – the theme does the resizing for you, but it seems in your case the image editor through WordPress isn’t doing that. If you uploaded same size images however, this would be irrelevant.

    Hi Ed,

I re-uploaded all the images and actually resized them for my own reasons.

    Events Travel

    Appears to be working again.

Any idea what the problem was?

Purely because all the images are the same size – the image resizing isn’t functioning, which points to an issue with something in your setup. Maybe ask your host to check the GD image library setup, as it seems the editor isn’t functioning.

    Hi Ed,

The images were loaded at 750 x 500, and being displayed as 400 x 300, does that mean it’s working?

No, they are displayed as they are resized to fit the grid, the actual image itself hasn’t been resized.

    Hi Ed,

I’ve attached my cpanel error log, can you please take a look and see if any issues would be crossing over?

And also, what would those errors mean?
