    Hello Support!

I wanted a sidebar on my portfolio pages. However i noticed this wasn’t possible with the “öriginal”portfolio page (A suggestion??) So i made my own page. (attachment 1) and linked the thumbnail from the portfolio carousel to this page. This works great!

But then i noticed the title under the thumbnail (attachment 2) links to the “original” portfolio page. And i can’t find the place where i can change this (it seems a little bit strange, the thumbnail links to one page and the title the another) Can you please tell me if its is possible to chance this, and how?

Unfortunately that’s not all: The portfolio carousel in de widget (sidebar and footer) are also linking to the “original” portfolio pages…while this are thumbnails :S

Tellsell Quote: “But that’s not all” –> The normal portfolio element works fine (title and thumbnail).

So can someone please explain me how to link everything to my own portfolio page and not the “original side bar-less ” one.

    Help!

    Hi there,

The only template used for the single portfolio items is single-portfolio.php

    Have you replaced this?

Unfortunately we are unable to support customisations, as these aren’t part of the standard theme.

Thank you for your response! I get the point of not helping customisatios, but it seems a bit strange you are giving an chance to change the link, but only for the thumbnail, not the tittle and the widget carousel…

I’m confused with what you mean by old and new portfolio? Can you show linked examples?

Old: the portfoliopage that is created when i submit a new portfolio item
New: The page i created because the portfolio page that is created doesn’t contain a sidebar.

When I create a portfolio item there is a option to give the thumbnail a link to a page.
–>” (Choose what link will be used for the image(s) and title of the portfolio item.)”
So i’ve created my own Portfolio page, not with .php editting but with just creating a new page in wordpress.

So i have now multiple portfolio items linking to different pages. Now I want to display this elements on my home page.  This works fine when i insert a “portfolio element” with swift. The items thumbnail and tittle linking perfectly to my own created portfolio page.

However i don’t want to display all myu portfolio items at once (just to much space) So I added an “Portfolio Carousel” and here is where the problem starts: The thumbnail links to my own created page, however the title still is linking to the automatticaly generated “old” page. And the Portfolio widget in de sidebar and footer also linking to the “old” page.

Please could you bring a good working suggestion?

Creating a new page in WordPress will not solve the link problem, you would need to code your own custom single-portfolio.php file, as that will always be used by the portfolios.

Ok thank you for the response. I’ll code my own .php.

But I’m still wondering; why the option is given… if it ain’t working.

We can’t stop you from creating your own pages, instead of using the portfolio items.

Portfolio items have no options for sidebars, so we are not really giving the option to do so 🙂
