    Hi,
I have a major problem with CSS between webkit and non-webkit browsers – if I can’t fix it I am F%$£ed as deadline looms – there has been no response to any of my previous queries regarding this on this forum.

I have tried everything including adding custom CSS to the theme general options and creating a child theme with custom CSS in style.css but to no avail – Whatever changes I make to CSS classes, the effect is only seen in webkit browsers (such as Chrome, Safari etc.) and no effect is seen in IE or Firefox.

Take a look at http://www.interxmedia.co.uk/tanshirepark_bak/ in different browsers – you will see that the banner background & testimonial slider layout is completely different. Or http://www.interxmedia.co.uk/tanshirepark_bak/gallery/ – typeface and layout changes are ignored by IE and Firefox.

One of the main reasons for choosing Flexform, was the ability to customise layout and CSS as this is what is required for the project.

    I am at my wit’s end – please respond…

    Hi,

The slider with shadow and testimonials text look the same in Firefox and Chrome, not sure what the changes were?

If you are referring to the fact that the fonts render differently in a Webkit browser, that’s a totally different thing and not something that CSS can make look the same cross-browser.

Sorry you’re right – try looking at http://www.interxmedia.co.uk/tanshirepark/ (the original url i gave is a child theme, and as you say, they now appear identical – none of my custom CSS in style.css is working on any browser!)

On this version, I have custom CSS in the theme general settings and in chrome I get a purple background to the top slider (when wide enough window), and the top and bottom padding on the testimonial slider is is reduced.

Also on http://www.interxmedia.co.uk/tanshirepark/gallery/ the font and layout of the caption text is completely different…

I realise that fonts are a Chrome issue – that’s not my problem.

    Many Thanks

Hi Cosmin – Please don’t abandon this thread – sorry the problem wasn’t showing when you looked (damn!)

http://www.interxmedia.co.uk/tanshirepark_bak/ – the child theme with the css amends in style.css instead of in the custom css field, is now back to how it was.

So as with the main site http://www.interxmedia.co.uk/tanshirepark/ the css amends only work in webkit-based browsers…

This seems like a major problem to me

I have modified the css in style.css for ‘impact-text’ on http://www.interxmedia.co.uk/tanshirepark_bak so you should really clearly be able to see the difference I am talking about!

I see this is related to your other thread, as in the CSS is not being applied in Firefox/IE.

Can you confirm that you are NOT using any form of caching for your website?
