    Hi Swift/Flexform,
First, I LOVE the Flexform template and am having a great time getting it going. It works beautifully and I am a first time learner/WP developer, so very relieved I can get through it. I have a “learner” question.

I am trying to password protect a big portion of my website. How it works: visitors read articles but then need to register (where?) and pay (PayPal) to participate in other parts of the site. WooCommerce comes with a sign in/sign up feature, but I don’t know if it can be applied for my purpose, or if it is just for payment accounts/history.
    Questions:
    • how can I password protect portions of my site? Do I have to put that portion into another directory?
    • does the Woo sign in/sign up come with IP recognition, remember me and verfication?
    • where are the identities stored? Do I need a CMS plugin?

I am a beginner, unfortunately, so I kinda don’t know where to begin and I don’t know what 3rd party pieces I need to accommplish the task, if any.

    Please help?
    Thanks so much, in advance.

    Hi

I recommend using a plugin liek this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-members/

It has a lot of features that may be useful to you, it restricts selected content to be viewable only by registered site members. It has a lot of other cool features to!

If you want to take it a step further you can get a premium plugin for $16: http://codecanyon.net/item/privatecontent-multilevel-content-plugin/1467885?WT.ac=category_thumb&WT.seg_1=category_thumb&WT.z_author=LCweb

    Hope this helps!

Hey Kyle, thanks for the suggestion. I tried it but it doesn’t work with the Dante theme. Particularly, previews and snippets still show up in Blog pages (a page with all my blog posts listed). Even if I have a special category for my protected posts, and chose to skip it from showing up in the blog page, if you click on “Categories” on the blog page that category will show up, and by clicking on it you see a preview of the protected content. I realize this is not your plugin…but I was wondering in case you knew any better solutions for Dante. Thanks so much!!!

    Hi @dashatron,

We don’t know any specific plugins, and given there are so many it may be a case of testing a few out and seeing which works best for you, sorry I couldn’t be of much help – there are just so many plugins out there!
