I have installed the oAuth Twitter Feed For Dev’s plugin and clicked activate but get this error message…

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class OAuthException in /home/sites/kinglouis.co.uk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/oauth-twitter-feed-for-developers/oauth/OAuth.php on line 8

    How can I fix this?

    He Laranz,

I’m encountering the same issue, is there a fix? I don’t really understand what you’re asking the first author of this thread, could you please rephrase your question/suggestion?

In an attempt to resolve this myself I also tried some other plugins that use twitter authentication (e.g. Display Tweet), but none of them give me errors. It’s just oAuth Twitter Feed for Developers.

    Hi,

Did you install this plugin http://wordpress.org/plugins/oauth-twitter-feed-for-developers/, and follow all the steps in the documentation?

Let me know, what you got.

    Thanks,
    laranz.

I did. As I explained in my post, i’m encountering the exact same error as the topicstarter, i.e.: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class OAuthException in /home/MYURL/wp-content/plugins/oauth-twitter-feed-for-developers/oauth/OAuth.php on line 8.

It fails at the stage where I need to activate the plugin in WordPress.

    Hi,

Did any of your other plugin declare OAuthException? Try to disable all plugins before activate this particular plugin. Also make sure the plugin is up-to-date.

    Thanks,
    laranz

    Hi Laranz,

I disabled every plugin and still get the error message. Also, I didn’t any additional plugins other than those required by the Neighbourhood Theme so i’m kinda clueless on what to do now. Do you have any other suggestions? Are there any settings within the main Neighbourhood theme (setup) that could declare OAuthException I should know off?!

    Hi,

It asks me some other username/password while entering the link you gave.

I read this in the internet by the plugin author himself on the same error, give it a read http://wordpress.org/support/topic/oauth-twitter-feed-plug-in-activation-error

Let me know, what you got.

    Thanks,
    laranz.

    Hi Laranz,

Can u try again? I’ve changed the password to the one provided above!

I’ve stumbled to that post myself as well, but a fix hasn’t come out yet as far as I know.

    Hi Cambo,

Thanks for your suggestion. Have you got it to work with the ‘Tweets slider’ or ‘Tweets’ element from the Neighbourhood Page builder? Because that is how I intend to use it, and not as a single widget. It seems Kebo will only let me use it as a widget and makes no connection to the Twitter elements as set-up in the Neighbourhood Homepage from the demo content.

    Hi @Polynique,

Still it asks for some other authentication.

But that is only occur to some user, it is just because that exception is already declared somewhere before this plugin. So only PHP gives you this error. I still have the same plugin in my local installation, and it didn’t give any error.

Did you try disable all plugins before activation of this plugin?

If that pulls tweets or not in the frontend?

Let me know, what you got.

    Thanks,
    laranz.
