At this stage, I’m close to throwing this theme into the garbage.
1) demo content doesn’t import no matter what I try. breaking it up into a bajillion pieces as recommended, does nothing. This is on multiple hosts / including a local box that I have complete custom root control over.
2) woocommerce version that the theme was designed for is not available, and the theme bundles old versions of the woocommerce pages, which is terrifying from an ecommerce / security standpoint.
3) revolution slider is unable to be activated, makes it seem super sketchy and completely unprofessional for anyone using this for a client website. Yes I downloaded the latest one from the appropriate thread, no change.
4) documentation is out of date or worse, completely wrong – woocommerce info is wrong, even the info about importing the admin panel for the theme is wrong, doesn’t setup proper fonts, font-deck content doesn’t load with the demo admin panel text imported, etc, etc, etc…
5) initial setup documentation (which plugins to include etc) is wrong, has plugins that don’t exist anymore as requirements of the theme, etc. So much for the ‘incredibly easy setup’ – brutal.
Having to read / search multiple locations, search the internet randomly trying to find out information about how to set something up or find something is NOT ‘easy setup’ no matter how you look at it. unacceptable in my view.
6) after giving up on loading the full demo content, did an import without downloading the images, which at least got me some basic page structure examples, but even that doesn’t work properly. the demo ‘about us’ page chart icons are missing, among many other things.
If you have such a crazy setup process and so many fragile 3rd party components that your theme relies on, BUNDLE THEM, or create a real demo importer that does not rely on the built in wordpress importer. The current state of affairs is unacceptable.
At this stage, I’m out 60 dollars and have zero to show for it. I’d like a refund, but since themeforest is useless in this regard, I’d like to figure out how to resolve this.
I’m far from a wordpress or php or web dev noob, I’ve built hundreds of wordpress sites, and have NEVER encountered something so frustrating as setting up this theme.
How do I get a working version of this system? The site in question is a bare bones fresh install – I’ve done ‘database reset’ on this site more times than I can count fighting with the setup so far.
I’d be even open to getting a tar/gzip clean wordpress install with the demo content installed (filesystem + db) – I can get that up and running, but I need SOMETHING working with this theme and asap if possible.
Ugh. Anyways. I’d like to salvage something of my $60 bux and get a working site up and running. I’ve easily blown through 8 hours fighting with it with zero results so far. Thoughts?
March 10, 2014 at 9:11 am #55861Hi Mike.
1) If you drop me a link/login, I’ll do my best to get this imported for you. Not sure how you seem to be having to so many issues.
2) Old versions of WooCommerce pages? Which version of the theme are you using? While WordPress 2.0 isn’t available anymore, we’ve updated the theme for WooCommerce 2.1.
3) This was an issue with the slider, we took it up with them and there is a new version here – http://support.swiftideas.net/forums/topic/revolution-slider-latest-version-2/
4) What information is wrong here? Some more details would be helpful.
5) A quick search would have provided a few results with help on the missing plugin – http://support.swiftideas.net/forums/topic/plugin-previous-and-next-post-in-same-taxonomy-not-available/ . While I understand it’s not ideal, plugins becoming unavailable is very rare.
6) As I said in #1, I’ll happily take a look if you provide a login.
Would have appreciated you at least trying to get help with this topic first, before an attempt at a damaging comment and a negative review.

March 10, 2014 at 4:50 pm #56128I am using the latest version of the theme provided from themeforest (1.65). The theme auto-updated itself after installation (to 1.66), the public download apparently isn’t even the latest version.
I’m using the version of woocommerce that is installed from the wordpress repository, version 2.1.5.
I have reset the wordpress install from scratch and will pm you ftp & login details. I also have the adminer plugin installed if you need raw access to the mysql database.

Unfortunately there is a lot of demo content, so sometimes, in certain setup situations it just refuses to play ball.
Will give you an update on progress shortly.

March 10, 2014 at 5:46 pm #56174yeah even if you can get the minimal ‘alt’ content installed, I’d be more than satisfied and can run with it from there. it’s mostly for the client and designer so they can see how particular pages were put together.
