Already checked with the dev team and it seems that is a WPML problem.
You should request them the WPML Beta version and then try again.

Call It magic – I have run the update to WPML 3.1.8.1 – latest version and guess what – Things work fine – also the RAM usage load has dropped by 50MB. I’ll test the site tomorrow but for now I hope it is solved
