new updates?

I have lots of updates pending, most important is probably
Worpdress to 4.2
Wocomeecce
and Neighborhood theme.

Other plugins are probably dependent of the new WP and I will do it later, I just wanted to know if there are any significant issues I shoudl expect.

Also, On WordPress Updates page, there is a note:

Please Note: Any customizations you have made to theme files will be lost. Please consider using child themes for modifications.

Does this apply to Neighborhood theme. If yes, would custom css will be reset upon update?

It’s true, if you change any template file that can be lost if it’s not in a child theme.

If you used the custom css option of the theme you won’t have any problem since that is saved in the database and not in the theme files.

For security reasons is recommended to update to the latest WordPress version, after that update the theme and the other plugins.

I’m using a child theme for Neighborhood. I don’t get why I’m seeing this message. Any ideas?
