I am trying to rebuild a crashed site.

I have made a new installation of LAMP, WP and Cardinal. I have reinstalled the demo content (not the data). I have also copied the old theme catalogue from the old site.

Is there any reason the new site and the old child theme should look different? What is the “best way” to move a site from one server to another?

    Hi,

Since you made a new installation and couldn’t recover the data from the other database, probably the changes come from that reason(theme options, configuration, widgets, Menus, etc).

This is a good plugin to duplicate sites.

I think maybe the link is wrong?

I have access to the database and site backend (wp_admin)- the environment is the problem. I have imported the old theme options, and copied the child theme from one server to the other. The immediate problem is the top menu, which is displayed vertically instead of horizontally.

My question is this: Should it be possible to use the old child theme? I had to change the template name from cardinal to Cardinal to find the child theme in WP, so maybe other changes is required, too.

Have you changed the name of the folder of the Cardinal theme? The issue is it’s not finding the style.css file from Cardinal, also, please change template names back to the original
