Post options not saving

Hello,

I recently made a new post on my site (url:https://events.com.au/state-of-origin-2015-packages/ ).

At first the post wouldn’t save the permalink i typed in, or any post options, such as not shown title, remove top space etc, including Yoast SEO settings. I finally managed to get it to save by just repeatedly deleting the post and starting again.

It finally saved with the settings I wanted (with me copy and pasting the content), but when i try to make another new post, none of the settings save.

Can someone please look into this, i tried everything from rolling back to an older version of cardinal, disabling all plugins and reinstalling 4.1 wordpress.

Hi,

can you check on the server logs for any error that can help trigger this out.
Guess this site is already in production? If not can you enable the wp-debug in wp-config.php file?

We’re suddenly having the same issue. I think it may be because of an interaction with WordPress code and the theme. The gist is that, since Cardinal does not have any theme ‘templates’, the metadata is not being saved.

“The actual line which causes the problem is: $page_templates = wp_get_theme()->get_page_templates( $post ); which is in wp-includes/post.php. This returns blank and then fails to run update_post_meta();”

The question here is – how do we fix this (if it’s actually the issue)? Obviously changing the WordPress code is not a viable option.
