    My Atelier Theme and SwiftFramework plugin are not updating automatically. Why?

    Hi,

    We don’t have any mechanism to update automatically. Usually some hostings do that, but we don’t do that since it can be dangerous to automatically update without looking at the rest of the plugins.

    I see, where can I find/download the updated swift framework plugin then?

    To clarify, when I try to manually update, no updates show up. I have hostgator. I read here that they have stupid restrictions that mess this up? http://www.swiftideas.com/forums/topic/swift-framework-plugin-not-downloading/

    Could you elaborate on this – is there anything I can do to fix it?

    Hi,

    It is common for Hostgator to block certain connections relating to custom plugin updates, though I would not know their specifics. It could be:

    – Blocking remote file downloads is enabled on your environment
    – Disable Mod Sec on your environment

    I’d suggest you open a live chat or ticket with Hostgator support. Report the issue to them and mention that the plugin is downloaded from our URL: http://swiftideas.com

    Ok, so I solved the problem. It seems if you have a lot of plugins, they can clash and prevent any of them from updating. Or at least, turning off all plugins except the ones I wanted to update solved the problem.

    We have not seen this reported before, do you have any error reference/hosting support response so we can investigate?
