I’m trying to create a modal popup of a video. We can easily add this functionality as a button to the page using Joyn, but what we actually want is for this to be triggered by a slide layer in LayerSlider.

We have tried various methods to do this including pasting in the shortcode, as well as the resultant HTML, to the HTML tab of the LayerSlider layer properties, but nothing works.

It seems crazy that we can’t achieve this – presumably we’re missing something obvious…

    Can this actually be done?

    Hi,

Yes, the shortcodes should work in LayerSlider.
Did you save the slide and publish it?

Can you paste here your shortcode and also admin credentials to your site?

    Hi Rui

Yes how do I securely send you the Admin cred’s?

I have included a screengrab of the shortcode and where we’re putting it…

In your reply just check the checkbox that says “Set as private reply”. Only the support team can see it.

    Hi,

I tried an it doesn’t seem to be working.
Can you update the Joyn theme and also the Swift Framework plugin to the latest versions.

Also your LayerSlider version is not the latest version. Check in the Themeforest download area for the latest version.

After updating everything let us know.

    Hi Rui

    Thanks for the reply.

OK well yes yours more-or-less works, but I still cannot make this work as intended on our *real* banner! Can you possibly take a look? As I say, it’s the Home banner on the Polaroid layer, where I want the link (trigger) on the Polaroid image.

I really appreciate your help on this!

    Cheers
    Matt

    Hi Matt,

Can you explain exactly how you want your banner to work, are you trying to do something more complex than Rui’s example where a button launches the model?

    – Let us know so we can assist you further!

    Thanks,
    David.

    Hi Matt,

Perfect, I understand. I have modified Rui’s example for you to test.

    Please take a look: http://ohc5.co.uk/?page_id=345.

    – Let me know if that is the functionality you require.

    Thanks.

David that’s great – that’s exactly what we wanted and you can how see it working as we wanted it on the homepage.

Quick question: Why does the site shift 10 or 20 pixels right when we open a Modal? And shifts back when we close it again?

    Hey,

Great to see you have implemented this, looks great.

I cannot replicate the movement, what browser are you viewing this on?

    Hi David

I’m in FF, and a colleague uses Chrome, but we’re noth seeing the issue. What happens exactly:

Click the button, and everything on the page *except* the banner shifts (roughly) 20px right, as the screen is greying out.

You then click the CLOSE button on the modal, and it all goes back to normal. Odd right?

    Matt
PS. Sincere thank you for the excellent support, and the extra lengths you have gone to to help with my issue. I think I’ve now bought (and implemented) this theme 3 times due to the excellent framework and great support.
