It seems nav bar dropdown menu for mobile repeats the first tab in the nav bar instead of “select a page” as indicated in the header.php.

I’d like the initial mobile menu (closed) to say “Menu” instead of “Home 2” and when clicked, “Home 2” to be the first in list of the dropdown nav.

How can I change this within the WP admin or if by code, where and what do I need to add to make this work?
    Screenshots attached. Thanks.

    Hi,

Make sure you are in the latest theme version, and also didn’t edit any header.php file.

You mean instead the menu 2 you want “select a page” text? See the attached image..

Let me know, what you got.

    Thanks,
    laranz.

Yes exactly. So when menu is closed “select a page!!” is visible and clicking shows dropdown with the nav menu.
Running flexform version 1.5.2 on WP 3.6.1, reuploaded header.php from theme but still same issue.
    Pls advise.

    Hi,

Send the WP Login details, I will look in to it, and add it if it is not present.

    Thanks,

the site is on an internal company server at this time. is there way to revise code in the header.php to change the wording? When I change “Home 2” to “Menu” in firebug, it shows properly for mobile menu. I’m not sure what corresponds with that in the header.php code to make that change.

The <?php _e(“Select a page”, “swiftframework”); ?> doesn’t seem to be working and it seems the function below that line is calling the menu (which it should) but duplicating “Home2” to show in menu nav bar even when closed.
    Pls advise.

    Hi,

Try this header.php (I attached in a attachement). I added a !! to the select a page for distinguish!

Before try this, make sure you backup your own header.php, so something works wrong you can revert it back.

Let me know, what you got.

    Thanks,
    laranz.

It’s still showing the same Noticed when Main Menu is clicked, Home2 shows twice BUT when Top Bar Menu clicked, “Select a Page” shows properly as closed main menu bar. The caveat is then I get a Top Bar Menu which I don’t want and clicking on “Select a Page” doesn’t show the drop down menu at all. Screenshots attached.

I’m working off an internal test server, not able to share links as previously mentioned. Menu issue negates the responsive aspect of the theme at this point..is there any manual code changes to the function in the header I can use??

Need to push site live and can’t say site is responsive without the menu working properly…

is there a way to change mobile menu text (“select a page”) within dashboard?
ive tested this in mamp w just the template and it’s same error so must be code/a theme file issue and not my customizations.

    Hi,

If you use .PO files you can directly translate from them, if you still want to directly edit, its all in header.php

    Thanks,
    laranz.
