    I want to move the menu to sit on top of the header instead of below it, but the menu and the header seemed to be wrapped up in some function.

    Hi,

    In header.php, you just need to move lines 356-437 (this is the nav with the id of nav-section) up on line 198, just above the div with the id of header-section
