Is there a simple way for us to change the default filter in masonry?

I would like “Favorites” category of portfolio to be the default when visiting the page.
Also, i would like the ability to reorder items.

Now, i can solve this by using some javascript to reorder items, but i am not sure about the default filter?

Unfortunately that is not part of the current theme functionality, and it’s not within the scope of our support to be able to provide that functionality as it is more work than a small customisation. While we’d love to be able to support every customisation request, we simply don’t have the time.
