Does this apply to archive views such as tags and categories as well? If I understand correctly, the blog asset has to be inserted into a page in order to create a particular style of view. For categories and tags, how is that done?

For archive/categories add this to your custom css:
```
.archive .blog-item .excerpt {
  display: none;
}
```
