Maintenance Mode

Hi,

I’ve just set up a new site and have created a coming soon page using the maintenance mode feature with the theme. I have no other plugins installed other than the ones bundled with the theme.

I have also got my reading settings enabled to point to another page which I’ve called ‘Home’. For some reason whatever page I try and view whilst logged in to the dashboard redirects me to the maintenance page.

I’ve also installed the theme locally using mamp and installed the standard demo and that seems to work fine when maintenance mode is active.

Any ideas?

Hi

It will be a user permission issue, if you don’t have the ability to edit themes in the wordpress dashboard you won’t be able to get passed the maintenance page. You need to ask your hosts to enable it for you

Oh do you mean where ‘editor’ would normally be visible in ‘appearances’?

Yes, the host must have disabled it

Thanks for your help, it was this line in the wp-config.php – define(‘DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT’, TRUE);
