Hey Kyle,
I do have other sites on the server. Strangely though, any non-WP site I have runs very fast, but the WP ones are slow. I will say, though, that the one using the Dante theme does take a bit longer to load than the other WP sites I have.
Thanks,
RyanFebruary 27, 2014 at 2:39 pm #52506Hi
It is definitely down to your host, like Ed said there are several seconds before any of the page loads, and then once the page starts to load it loads fast. There is nothing we can do about this, sorry.
Maybe upgrade your hosting.

March 11, 2014 at 2:40 pm #56445Kyle,
I’ve been going back and forth with my hosting company on this, and they claim it’s not them either. Here’s what they said:
I took a look at your servers again but I’m still not seeing any problems
with the load. After looking into your files, it looks like wordpress
was causing the delay on your site. Here’s the speed now:http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/ca0Lzg/conrad-design.com/dev/duralum/
and here’s the result after disabling all of your plugins and switching
to the default theme:http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/eKt2DW/conrad-design.com/dev/duralum/
//
After looking at the test results, It does seem like the Dante theme has a large role in the slow page loading. To make sure it wasn’t the plugins, I just ran a test with all of them deactivated. Here are the results: http://fpt.pingdom.com/#!/cWmI2u/http://conrad-design.com/dev/duralum/.
You’ll notice that there’s a 12 second wait to initially load the page, where as with the default theme was less than 1 second. It’s the same server/host, so it has to be theme related, right?
UPDATE: I just ran a test with the child theme deactivated, so just using the main Dante theme. The results are actually worse! http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/bRURN7/http://www.conrad-design.com/dev/duralum/
Please help!

I will ask the developer about this as I’m not sure what’s causing that initial delay.

March 12, 2014 at 1:48 pm #56869I had same load time issues, also on admin (very long with broken connections sometimes), since one week i moved the website in root (was in a folder) everything goes really faster, quite strange. Maybe my host has better tubes, will see next days.
March 12, 2014 at 5:16 pm #57020@dmblover41 – comparing to the default theme isn’t too helpful, given that it doesn’t include any jQuery scripts, as little css as possible for a website, and nothing of any real functionality over a standard blog – whereas Dante has an extreme amount of functionality. The fact that it’s taking 2 seconds to load 200kb on the default theme is pretty evident of the issue. On our standard hosting, here is what we get with the default theme loading: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vntc6oxq92xgjsq/Screenshot%202014-03-12%2017.15.12.png
So that’s already 4 times slower, no wonder you are having issues. They are doing their best to pass the buck, and I would recommend you looking for a better host. If you let us know a budget you have we can happily advise!
