    I built my wordpress site on my computer using MAMP and just recently uploaded it to hostgator. When I try to access my site’s wp-login.php it asks for a log in but none of my log in information works. When I select “Lost your password” it takes me to an error page from my website. I changed the password on MAMP but I feel like it’s already on the hostgator side since the new passwords aren’t working. I also tried changing the profile information from this website to see if that would work on my site but no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    I’m very new to all of this so I’m probably asking dumb questions. The website is working, so would I have to update the wp-login.php url on the gatorhost database? Like in the .sql or wp-config.php?

    When you move your site to a new domain, or from localhost to your live domain, you need to update the site url. You need to use https://interconnectit.com/products/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/
