Load time is extremely slow

Hi guys,

First time we load your theme on a website the load time is extremely slow. It seems it needs to cache all content.

How to solve this asap?

Can you provide a link? It’s likely to do with your hosting or setup, as the demo is lightning fast and gets an 80 Google Page Speed score.

I’m having the same issue.

A couple thoughts though:

– A Google Page Speed of 80 isn’t that great

– Google PS scores how well you have setup your site – it does not score actual speed.  My score is 90 and the site is still as slow as molasses

 

I know one thing that contributes to the slowness of the site is “Contact Form 7” loads assets on every single page regardless if it is being used on that page or not.

 

I’m having issues where it is taking over 30 seconds to load a page and this is not acceptable for me or my client.

Hi,

These are some of the key factors to consider for speed:

– hosting. For example, a cheap $5/month host is what it’s worth.
– images – if you have lots of big images (and not optimized), this will impact your load time.
– server settings, but this is an entirely different discussion.
– for WordPress – poorly coded plugins may impact load times
– social media widgets – these basically load a different site in an iframe, so they add a big number to your load times.

But since you’re creating sites for clients, I’m sure you already knew that 🙂

Also, keep in mind that themes are not full-blown-optimized solutions, they are just templates that still need to be customized for each particular use case.
