Label on top of Portfolio thumbnails

Hello,
I have a client who has requested a very particular thing. He has a portfolio of work that has won several awards like Cannes Lions, Clios, Creativity online, etc. What he wants is to have each portfolio thumbnail to have a little sort of label on the right upper corner with the logo of the award that each particular project has won. Like those sites that have a little thingy when a site wins a FWA Site of the day or an AWWWARD on the side, in this case it would be on the right upper corner of each thumnail. Similar to the file i will attach.

Does this make sense? Is it possible?

The label would have to be added to the thumbnail image itself. As this functionality is not possible by default

Yes, it’s what I’ve been doing so far. My problem with that is that the theme takes the image that I upload and resizes the thumbnails to different sizes and cuts off the logo on the corner. Is there something I can do to avoid this issue?
