Hi to speed up the website loading speed I’ve installed a cache plugin. It all works nice and gives a nice speed upgrade however Ive noticed that the wishlist widget on the header doesn’t update when adding items to your wishlist and going to cached pages. I’ve tried both W3TC and WP Super Cache, same results.
Could someone look into this so users of this theme can safely cache their site without breaking functionality? Thanks!
November 29, 2013 at 11:44 pm #34502Hi,
Did you try disable the cache for that wishlist page alone?
Let me know, what you got.
Thanks,

December 2, 2013 at 11:55 am #34714Hi,
I mean the page, that you put the wishlist plugin’s shortcode (that you set in Woocommerce -> Settings -> Pages).
Let me know, what you got.
Thanks,
laranz.December 2, 2013 at 2:39 pm #34765If I add [yith_wcwl_wishlist] to the list of things to not be cached then my product pages stop being cached altogether..
I saw this article relating to caching dynamic content, but its way over my head: http://ocaoimh.ie/2013/10/21/shiny-new-dynamic-content-wp-super-cache/
Right now this problem is making my site unusable and as others have mentioned the theme tends to have speed issues so caching is a must (gives me 60% speed increase). I dont mind switching to another cache plugin but W3TC was even more buggy for me and nowhere are there any instructions for this theme. I really hope this can be looked at in more detail. Cheers.

Ed is currently in vacation, see the sidebar, once he came back and set everything, he will reply you asap.
Thanks,
laranz.December 14, 2013 at 6:37 pm #37108Hi @oytamuah,
Right, just looking into this.
The only way I can think to work around this, would be to clear the cache every time an interaction is made with the wishlist – this would obviously be needed for every page. Either this, or making the wishlist dropdown get the wishlist contents.
It seems that this is how the cart is updated, clearing all the cache on cart change.
Quick check for me, in the wishlist settings are you using the cookie session option or not?

December 14, 2013 at 7:30 pm #37122Yes I was using the cooking session option, but now I have turned it off and the problem seems to persist. There is a discussion here about how WooCommerce got the cart widget to stay dynamic, perhaps the same can be applied to this wishlist widget?

December 16, 2013 at 3:40 pm #37397The problem is that setting something up like that isn’t simple, and the work for it to happen with WooCommerce would have been quite a big job. Unfortunately obviously the functionality isn’t included with the YITH wishlist plugin as standard. It’s something we want to extend ourselves, but haven’t found the time as of yet.
Does it work ok when you’re logged in? Is it still cached when you are logged in?
– Ed
December 16, 2013 at 5:59 pm #37479Unfortunately its the same whether logged in or not. Shame YITH didn’t think about this when developing the plugin..
December 18, 2013 at 10:10 am #37973It is annoying, however it was the best plugin we could find that was free. Their support doesn’t seem to be too quick to reply, though you may want to ask them for a solution? http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/yith-woocommerce-wishlist
We will try and spend some time on this as soon as we can if it isn’t fixed by them first.
