I’m having an issue with the recent posts element, specifically the way the blog page button is behaving.

If I add a recent posts element and select multiple categories and then select the option to display the read more posts button the resulting URL for that button doesn’t take me to to the blog page. If I select only one category the read more posts link will take me to the specific blog category page as I expected.

I have the theme options/custom post types options/blog page set to the main blog page on my site which is where i was expecting it to go but it seems to be ignoring what is set there.

Am I misinterpreting the info on the blog page button?

Select if you’d like to include a bitton in the title bar to link through to all blog posts. The page is set in the Theme Options>Custom Post Type Options, unless you have selected a category above, in which case it will link to that category.

So it works properly if I select only one category but it fails if I select multiple categories. I haven’t tried to see what happens if I select just the “All” categories option yet and I will after I send this and if that works that’s great but I’d expect multiple categories to behave in the same manner as “All” categories.

You can see this in action at the link attached to this request.

    Thanks
    Chuck

    Hi,

Can you confirm your theme version is: 1.2.60: https://www.dropbox.com/s/u67okj0qvpm1xm5/uplift.zip?dl=0.

…and your Swift Framework is 2.4.0?

    Thanks.

Framework veriosn s 2.4.11 according to what is shown on the installed plugins page.

Uplift is 1.2.60 according to the info show on the theme page.

    See attached picture.

What I did find is that if I select the “All” categories option the resulting target on the “view all articles” link will be the blog page as defined in Theme Options>Custom Post Type Options. This is working as I’d expect.

If I select a SINGLE category other than “All” it the target will take you the category list page for your chosen category. This is working as I expected.

If I choose multiple categories the target link on the “view all articles” will be the same as the link for the page I’m currently on.

See the view all articles link on this page for an example

    http://8e3.070.myftpupload.com/home-3-uplift/

in the recent posts one I have 2 categories selected and the view all articles link is broken I feel that multiple selected categories should work the same as the “all” categories selection as I can’t think of any better way to handle it. In any case linking to the same page that I’m already on is a bad thing.

in the recent enewsletters section i have one category (not “all”) selected and it works properly

in the all posts section I have the “all” category selected and the link works properly.

    Thanks
    Chuck

Yes, I can replicate this also. I’ll pass this back to the team for update.

Everything is essentially working, unless you use multiple categories in which case the blog link should default to the one set in Theme Options => Custom Post Type Options.

    Thanks.

I think we may have a regression on this or at least i’m seeing strange things

    Look here https://opexsociety.org/

Specifically scroll down to the section labeled enewsletters and note the ‘view all articles” link takes you to https://opexsociety.org/category/enewsletters/

Note that the “view all articles” link on the section called Thought Food just links to the home page of the site.

The element for Thought Food was created using the duplicate function and I duplicated from the element for the enewsletter if that matters any. I’ve also created the element from scratch with the same effect.

    Thanks
    Chuck

Strange I cannot replicate this locally. Please can you disable all plugins leaving only Swift Framework and WooCommerce active whilst I look.
