Issues following update on storefront and product page

I updated both the Neighbourhood theme and the woo commerce plugin today and I have a few issues since on both the storefront page and the individual product pages. The problems appear on both laptop and phone screens.

I use a child theme but I tried to switch to the main theme and I still had similar issues with the original theme although slightly different.

I am not a developper so please bare with me… (sorry) I tried to list the problems below as clearly as possible.

Store front:

– When using my child theme:

1/ The storefront page is now on full screen so both widget and images are now against the edges of the screen. I have the full screen option activated for the home page, but the store front always used to remained boxed so I am not sure what to do as I would like to keep the rest of the site in full screen.

2/ the page title AND breadcrumbs appear at the top although these options are not activated. I tried to activate them, clear my cache and deactivate and clear the cache again as mentioned on the forum. no change.

– When switching to main theme as opposed to child them:

I have the exact same issues as above but on top of it, all my left widgets allowing to select product category and colours disappear.

Individual Product Page:

Also now on full screen.

 

Overall site:

It feels like the menu is more boxed than it used to be (the margins of each side seem bigger), am I wrong?

I am looking into this now for you.

q1) The shop and single product page seems to be fixed after re-saving the options and setting the page layout to boxed.

q2) This seems to be isolated to just that /shop/ page. I cannot replicate this on my dev version or on a standard page on your site. – I’ll need to investigate this further.

Thanks David. Yes I also noted that changing the overall site to boxed was solving the issue but the problem comes back when returning to unboxed which is really problematic as we actually chose the neighbourhood template because it offers a full screen home page 🙁

As you can see above, about month ago, following a Neighborhood and Woo|Commerce update, I started to have a few issues since on both the storefront page and the individual product pages. The problems appear on both laptop and phone screens.

1/ Store front:

1/ Store front:
I do not see that, everything looks normal to me. Can you screenshot this?

2/ Individual Product Page:
You will need to update your child theme files to match the new parent theme files. Does your child theme have header.php and footer.php files?

Hi David!

Thanks so much for coming back to me. It’s been driving me insane!
I put the site on boxed mode while waiting for a solution so that’s probably why you could not see the issue. I have put it back on full screen mode.

So the first issue concerns the main shop page.
We never used to have the header nor the breadcrumb on the store front page. It appeared after the update a month ago and I can’t take it off. I tried to change the header.php file as mentioned to me, I tried to activate, deactivate, clear the cache etc etc nothing works. I even tried to deactivate the Breadcrumb plugin to see if that caused the problem. no luck.
Second issue is on the individual product page.
They all in full screen mode now and I would like them back to boxed while keeping the main site in full screen as before

To answer your question, I do use a child theme but I tried to switch to the main theme to see if the problem remained and it does remain.

So I tried to do my homework. I have updated all the child theme files. I do have a header.php file in the child theme but I only recently did to implement a possible solution offered by your colleague to my problem, which didn’t work but maybe because of me..
I now have an additional issue in the single product page with the image zoom. When a variation is chosen, the image does something super weird (see image). The other issues related to the page tiles on the storefront and the single product in full mode remain. Please help./ I have been trying to sort this is out for over a month ands we are about to launch our summer collection 🙁

I am so sorry to be such a pest. I managed to fix the single product pages being in the full mode, so sorry about that but I have now new problems folioing that fix. Just to clarify my remaining problem:
1/ store front page
The page has a title that I can’t remove. the option on the page is deactivated and I made sure that Default Show Page Heading in the default meta option is also deactivated. no luck.

2/ Single product page
-> The product name is now stuck on the extreme left of the screen when it used to sit nicely above the price.
-> When a product variation is selected, there is a weird problem with the zoom for the pic. I tried to use regenerate thumbnail pluggin toll after all the changes I made, but that did not help.

Also, on the single product page, you cannot see the small images version of the other product images available underneath the big main one.

Just to check here, the only issues remaining are these:

2 Single product page

– Can you 1) Update the WooCommerce plugin on your site. 2) Disable the child theme
