Issue with white spaces in header and social links colour

Hi

Thanks for a lovely theme.

I have begun to set up a site here: http://cathnor.com/at

I have a couple of questions regarding my header:

1. Why do I have so much white space below the main menu and above the page divider line? I would like to have the divider below the menu to be the same distance away as the one above it. What have I adjusted to cause this issue?

2. How can I change the colour of the social icons in the Top nav bar? I want to keep the background colour of the top nav white, but this means the social icons don’t show. Can their colour be changed somewhere? I have searched high and low but can’t see where!
