You can try like this, put this in Theme Options -> Custom CSS.

nav#main-navigation .menu > li > a { background-color: #D0DB2F; padding: 10px; }
nav#main-navigation .menu > li { padding: 0; }

if that didn’t work, try this

nav#main-navigation .menu > li > a { background-color: #D0DB2F; padding: 10px !important; }
nav#main-navigation .menu > li { padding: 0 !important; }

adjust the padding and colors according to your needs, it may give you a basic needs, and you can take it from here and adjust your own values.

That appears to work pretty well.
Would you know if it’s possible to move the main menu to under under an object? you notice the second arrow has a video above the menu. thoughts..
