Invisible "search for something" because it's white on white.

When I want to search, the search bar shows, above the top bar. But I cannot see anything because text and bar are both white. How to I change either text to other colors, or the color of the bar so that the search field shows up? Thanks.

I think he has set the layout to boxed, and when you click on search the text is the same color as the background e.g. white on white.
This happens at least in Firefox, in Chrome it works okay.

#header-search input, #header-search a, .super-search-close, #header-search i.ss-search {
color: rgb(255, 255, 255);
}

when I change the color 255,255,255 to black for example then you see the text.

No, I am not using boxed layout. I would prefer white background, and dark text.

Try this custom css:

#header-search input, #header-search a, .super-search-close, #header-search i.ss-search {
color: #222;
}
