Import demo content not working (site cache error)

Hi,

i’m trying to import the Demo content (including media content) but i always get an error during import (there is something wrong with site caching).

what works fine:
– upload & activate Dante theme
– update required plug-ins
– updating all wp-config.php & other php.ini variables (cfr. Dante documentation).

however, during the first import stops after 2/3 minutes (see attachment for error) and it seems not everything is imported.

we also see following error:

the second refresh runs better (see also attachment) but the end-result is very messy – eg:
– main menu & footer shows 2 times (home – home – pages – pages -)
– many links from homepage to other pages are not working
– footer is not correct (no tweets, portfolio images,…)
– …

site is hosted at Siteground (cloud hosting package) so should be ok in my opinion.

hi,

some updates:
Siteground changed some server params – now the import completes with our error.

but:
1) many links from homepage are still not working… (eg: button view all projects)

2) footer is still empty

hi,

links issue is resolved (permalinks change).

but my question related the footer remains:
is it normal that the footer is empty after the demo import?

Hi,

Yes it’s normal, the WordPress demo content doesn’t include widgets content.
