Dear Support team,
What I can read is that the Dante theme should be visible correctly on internet explorer 9 and 8. However, this is not the case. Both ie 8 and 9 do not show the Dante theme correctly.
On ie 8 the website is completely a chaos (position of the content is switched etc), on ie 9 some boxes are not showed correctly (on the screenshot you can see the blue boxes, however this blue part should be only be visible as mouse-over) I’ve added both screenshots as an example.
For me the ie 9 and 8 compatibility is extremeply important, so i’m waiting for your reaction on this.
Regards,
J.
February 5, 2014 at 10:52 am #46904Are you by any chance in compatibility mode in those browsers? If so, please switch it off, as this might be the reason for the misbehavior.
Cheers!
February 5, 2014 at 1:50 pm #46942Hello Melanie,
Thank you for your answer.
No, it was not (only) on a compability mode. I used a windows XP PC with an original internet explorer 8 on it. The website has many errors on internet explorer 8. See the attachments.
Could you fix these errors, as you have stated that the Dante theme is internet explorer 8 compatible.
Regards,
J.
February 10, 2014 at 1:10 pm #47611Hi,
Can you please press F12 and check the browser mode and provide maybe a screenshot of it as well. Thanks
TahirFebruary 10, 2014 at 1:25 pm #47622Hello Tahir,
The first images I sent were in compitability mode. So you can check those.
Can you tell me what is the problem? Can you solve this issue?
Regards,
J.
February 14, 2014 at 8:10 am #48921Hi, does the same happen on a machine that is not on Windows XP?
I’m afraid XP is a 14 years old OS which is not even supported by Microsoft themselves anymore (April I think) – therefor we really cannot cater to users that don’t update their OS for 14 years.
Thank you so much for understanding!
If you find these errors on another OS as well, do report them please.thank you!
July 30, 2014 at 6:26 am #95912Hi There!
Having the same issue that IE9 buggers whole site up (menu, layout and everything) – Using with Win7
After turning compatibility mode off, it works fine. Question is, is there maybe a way to enter a check to display message to end user customer if they are in compatibility mode?
Thank you!
July 30, 2014 at 11:20 am #96053Hi,
Please open to edit header.php under theme directory and paste given below code just after </title> tag .<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=9; IE=8; IE=7; IE=EDGE" />
Hope that should work and let me know your feedback.
Thanks
August 11, 2014 at 8:16 am #99731Hi Mohammad!
Thank you very much! Works like a charm 🙂 Will this maybe be added as standard in future release?
August 11, 2014 at 8:45 am #99747Hi,
You most welcome. I’m glad that issue resolved.
Thanks 🙂
With Best Regards
MohammadAugust 23, 2014 at 6:32 am #103485I’m also having trouble with the compatibility in IE 11 on Win 7 and older versions, so therefore I added the solution from Mohammad to the header file.
It seems like I still have problems with http://www.kamillaruus.dk. It seems like the browser doesn’t load the slider and portfolio pictures.
I have checked the compatibility mode and the url is not added, when you click Alt button and Tools menu. Please take a look at the attachment. What could be the problem?
Best regards

August 25, 2014 at 6:32 am #103701Hi Ed,
Thank you for testing.
I tested the website in my office and here I have another problem. We have Windows 7 and IE 9.0.8112.16421.
I also tested on my son’s laptop and he has Windows 8.1 and IE (can’t remember the version). Here it looks fine.
It must be some browser settings.Best regards
