I have selected 940px boxed, shadowed and yet my site width is still 1170px,

I have selected 940px boxed, shadowed and yet my boxed site width remains 1170px –– with all the text and content 940px centred within the 1170 space. I dont want this massive (100px+ each side) extra white space i want the site 940px

Am running WP 3.9 and latest dante updated this afternoon

I’m afraid only the content width is reduced to 940px, the box stays at the normal width.

You could try adding this custom css:

#container.boxed-layout, .layout-boxed #super-search, body.layout-boxed > .sf-super-search {
  width: 1080px;
}
