    Hi,

Whenever we try to set the site up to default to HTTPS it seems to break the layout, you should see exactly what I mean if you visit https://kidsoutside.co.uk compared with http://kidsoutside.co.uk

Any ideas how to correct this? I understand that things like the slider referenced image URLs need to be changed but it seems to cause layout issues and sends the whole page to the left of the main container too. Also things like the Revolution Slider admin appear to have some serious CSS layout issues going on too and looks very much broken….

    Hi

You need to install the HTTPS plugin

I am trying to avoid installing another plugin and I don’t see how that will fix the issue either. I had set the site settings to show the site as https://kidsoutside.co.uk and written a rule in the htaccess to direct all traffic to that URL however the results are the same. I cannot see how the plugin is going to do anything different but welcome your explanation.

    Thanks
    Tom

Why do you think that, I am running another site on it https://www.tomhodgson.co.uk and it doesn’t need and doesn’t run on that plugin.

I’m not trying to be awkward, I’m just trying to avoid another plugin and I know it isn’t required. I didn’t find your last answer to be of the best supportive quality despite asking for an explanation / background to help me understand.

    Thanks
    Tom

    Hi,

The functionality of the plugin is replacing all http request by https requests.
When accessing through Https the browser consider as insecure a script that is loaded from the Http url.

Like Kyle said you need to install this plugin.
This is not theme relate and we are trying to help you out.

I took a punt and installed the one with the most downloads, however there are still issues with the homepage layout when viewing in https.
