I’m trying to set up the Swift Slider for images. How and where do I add images for the slider? It’s a bit confusing about how to set up a slider for images. I’ve read the Atelier documentation but the section on the Swift Slider is a bit lacking. I don’t see where to add multiple images for the slider. I added a Swift Slider element to a Row container. I’ve set up slides in the Swift Slider configuration. But how do I tell the Swift Slider element which images to use for which slides?

This confused the hell out of me too.
Basically you make individual slides, and put them into a category.
Then the category is the slideshow, so when you want to insert a swift slider you choose which category you want to play and it plays a selection (or all) of the slides in that category.

It means you can have the same slide appear in multiple slideshows without having to upload it more than once.

It’s kind of a clunky system but it’s pretty easy once you figure it out!

    Hi

Yes that’s correct, we recommend creating categories for the location of your slideshows, for e.g. ‘home’, ‘about’ etc. The reason we do it this way is so that users don’t have to create the same slide for several slideshows (if they want to use the same slide)

But I’m still having an issue: in the configuration for the Swift Slider element, the only category that appears is “All[x]”. The category that I’ve set up and assigned to the slides doesn’t show up. And when I try to type it into the Category textbox, the message “No results match” appears under the Category text box. Is there something I need to do like publish the slides? Currently they’re in draft. But the page I’m working on is also in draft and not published.

    Hi Mark,

Please Publish the slides, they are currently in Draft post status.

A category will only appear with published posts inside it.
