How to Set Custom, or Edit, Shop Page

I’ve created a custom Shop page in order to get custom control. How can I tell the theme to point to it? WooCommerce shows this error on the back-end (attached).

When using the built-in shop page, the Page title was “Product Archive” and I couldn’t see a way to change it.

@modio – out of interest what custom control do you need?

– this can be changed very easily.

The shop page browser title is set using the Yoast SEO plugin.

Do so here: Titles & Metas – Yoast SEO => Post Types => Custom Post Type Archives => Products

Thank you, David. It was very minor reasons: removing the filter and having control over the title + meta. Switching to a custom page has broken some links though, so I’ll switch back with your recommendation using the Yoast Plug-in.

I’m sorry to add a replace, but now that I’m switched back, I don’t see a way to set a Shop page title (Yoast only works for meta data)?

Hi Rui, sorry the 2nd reply, but how can I set a Page Header Title (Hero bar) for the Shop page?

You set the page title in the page title. Edit the Shop page itself and please see my screenshot.

That takes us back to the original problem… I don’t have an existing Shop page, thats why I created one of my own.

WooCommerce will create this, if not you can manually create it – Pages => Add new which you would then set as the shop page in the WooCommerce plugin options. No need to add any PB elements to this, products are pulled in automatically when you set the page in the WooCommerce plugin options
