How to properly install an update to this theme?

I see on Themeforest that you have an update to the Neighborhood theme. What’s the proper way to apply this update?

Hi there,

What you want to do is go to your WordPress dashboard and update there. You can also do it through Appearance > Themes.

This will do it all automatically for you.

I guess I’m still a bit confused.

When I got to my WordPress dashboard, I’m using a child theme from Neighborhood. I look at the details for the parent theme Neighborhood and it still says 1.0 and didn’t say there was an update for it.

I have the sme problem. When i go to dashboard->appearance–>themes

There are only these options: Customize OPTIONS: Widgets Menus Install Plugins

There is nowhere the option : Update

What should i do?

I also tried to upload the theme update to add a new theme and i got this:
Unpacking the package…

Installing the theme…

Destination folder already exists. /hermes/bosweb25b/b806/ipg.nickrhodes/rhodes-apartments.biz/wp-content/themes/neighborhood/

Theme install failed.

Make sure that you have the parent theme enabled when updating. That might be your issue. The update should also show under Dashboard > Updates.

Me too. It’s not showing that there’s an update. So I downloaded the latest file in my envato account and did a brand new install to a different domain and I’m still not showing the updated theme. No parallax, etc. Help?

Not sure what changed in the back end, but I went back and activated the parent theme again and saw an update this time.
