Hi Josh,
Moving WordPress installations is beyond the scope of a theme, so having guides in the documentation for this or having such situations covered by our free theme support is not something we can really focus on.
If you just moved the export file with no database, or if something went wrong with your MySQL export or, if you used a plugin that messed things up – these are all possible situations.
What I always do is that I either do a manual MySQL export via phpMyAdmin (or via the WP DB Backup plugin), which exports everything there is, install WP in the new location, import the .sql file I just exported (also in phpMyAdmin) and make sure to change all paths/URL accordingly.
Hope this helps.
