    I copy and pasted the youtube URL in a blog which displayed it OK in the blog cntent but did not display a “Featured” image in the masonry grid view.

    I cheated and uploaded a screenshot of the youtube preview to Featured image to create an image in Mansonry grid view (as well as the youtube URL in the blog itself) but then of course the image appeared twice.

    Is there a way of having the youtube URL generate a Featured Image?

    Hi

    Continue with your method, but hide the image on the blog detail page using the post meta options

    Yes, it is not possible to generate a thumbnail image via the youtube video, that functionality only works on YouTube

    The video should work fine, is it only on mobile that it does not show?

    Sorry, that screenshot was misleading.

    Here is a full screenshot. The post thumbnail in question is the top right one.

    That’s an issue with the video, not the theme
