    I want to change the background color of the footer widget to black, by default it seems to be dark grey. In the customization section under appearance i have made all selections black but it does not change the widget color.

    Hi

    You mean the footer background color? This should be under Color – Footer

    The footer is black, its the footer widget which has a grey appearance. Refer to the screenshot, its the one with social icons.
