How to Change Portfolio Items' Menu?

Hi,

I want to change the menu (navigation bar) when one have selected a portfolio item. I can see that you can change the “Portfolio Header Type”, Standard or Naked in the Portfolio Meta section. I however want to change the menu to view different links than the main navigation menu.

I am using the left vertical header, have anchor links “#link” that navigate to certain places on the webpage.
It works the same as the one page navigation system, but I do not want it on the right, but as a menu.

The problem I am having is that once a portfolio item has been viewed, the links do not work.

I don’t want to use “www.example.co.za/#link” because then the links jump quickly to the destination and I then lose the easing animation of the custom link “#link”.

I want to keep the easing animation of the “#link” but want users to be able to navigate back to the home page to the desired destination as the home page links states e.g. Services.

My solution is to get a different menu to view when a portfolio item is shown, once a different menu is there I can just add full links “www.example.co.za/#link”, or is there another way to do it?

Help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

You can assign a different menu for each page should you wish. Edit a page and locate: ‘Page Header / Slider => Page Menu‘. There you can select a unique menu for the page.

I know how to change the page menu of a normal page, I want to know how to change the menu of a portfolio item. I can only find the ‘portfolio header type’.

There are different settings to what I can change from editing a normal page or editing a portfolio item.

Is this possible?

Hello,

An options within the portfolio item does not exist. However you can still override it should you wish.

If you edit your desired portfolio item, scroll down to the ‘Custom Fields‘ section.

1) Locate ‘Add New Custom Field‘

2) Click ‘Enter new‘

3) In the ‘Name’ field enter ‘sf_page_menu‘

4) In the ‘Value’ field enter your menu number. To locate this go to your Menu admin area and select the menu you wish to use, the menu number is the last number at the end of the URL once you have selected your menu. The end result should look like my screenshots.
