I’m looking to add a new menu option on the sidebar of the dashboard like “testimonials” or “FAQs”. We are in the custom invitations business and we have a lot of wording ideas that I would like to put in the format of the testimonials or FAQs and use the page builder to add them to the bottom of other pages and use them to build their own wording pages. How do I add and properly integrate a new menu option within the dashboard?

    Thanks,
    PV

I would like this new custom post type to be totally integrated with the theme, so maybe it’s best to be able to repurpose & rename “Portfolio” to “Wording Ideas” so it will be in the page builder as well. Is this possible?

    Hi

You can use this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/cpt-editor to edit one of the current posts types

    Hi Kyle,

I did find that plugin to rename, but how can I add it to the swift page builder? I want to be able to tag and categorize the testimonials and “wording ideas” for organizational purposes. How do I make sure these options are added as well?

    Thanks for your help,
    PV

Sorry I’m not sure what you mean, can you elaborate?

    I apologize,

I added my new custom post type “Wording Ideas” via the Custom Post Type UI plugin. Now, I would like to see how I can add this new CPT to the “Elements” menu in the Swift Page Builder, so I can add it to my main wording category for instance.

Here I am using the portfolio option for the SPB and overriding the post type to use “wording-ideas”. I feel like this is limiting and a bit of a rig job. Is there a way to add the new CPT to the page builder, so that I can organize this a little better?

    Does that make sense?

Unfortunately it’s beyond our scope of support to help add new post types. The page builder will only support the built in post types, sorry
